Shleppers Supports 2011 Walk MS Events

Top New York moving company Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to announce its recent donation of time, trucks and support to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society which hosted four Walk MS events.

These events are the premier fundraising events for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the NY Metropolitan area. To conduct four events at four different locations was a major challenge for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and for its marketing partner, Lead Dog Marketing. Shleppers played a key role in transporting and storing goods for several days leading up to the events, and then Shleppers' expert movers unloaded tables and chairs for the event, set up tents, and helped to hang signage and banners around the event vicinity. For the events at Rye Playland and Bear Mountain State Park, Shleppers personnel assisted by handing out water and stacking trucks, and set up a Shleppers tent from which they also gave away Frisbees, T-Shirts, umbrellas, and more. The events were a huge success, attracting more than 6,000 participants, sponsors and volunteers. With seven Walk MS events happening throughout the tri-state area that same weekend, Walk MS will raise close to $3.0 million to create a world free of multiple sclerosis.

"All of us at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Shleppers team for the exceptional job done with the logistical setup, storage, breakdown and route coordination for the 2011 Walk MS events" comments Barbara Evans, Vice President, Development for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s NYC-Southern NY Chapter. "Many thanks to the entire Shleppers team for a job well done, and for helping the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in its mission to create a world free of multiple sclerosis. Their donation of trucks and services truly helps us come closer to achieving this mission."

"We were privileged and delighted to take part in supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society this year," comments Shleppers President, Jason Friedland. "This is the second year we have helped and are very happy to be involved with our people and trucks--it's a truly worthy cause."

Steven Malman, Most Sought out SAT Tutor, Tutors Pro-Bono

Steven Malman, creator of the most sought out SAT tutoring firm in the Tri-State area, launches a pro-bono campaign, giving the underprivileged the chance to excel in the SATs.

Currently tutoring the Tri-State area’s most privileged individuals, Steven Malman is the cause of many kids’ tremendous increases in their SAT scores. The results were so dramatic, that Steven Malman has become the most sought out tutor in the state. The high demand for his services yielded an increase in his pricing, and thus benefiting only New Yorks’ upper elite. As a result, Malman decided to provide his services for those that cannot afford it as well.

“I don’t believe the system in America is 100% fair to all college applicants. Students with more advantages economically have more of an advantage over students from lower economic backgrounds. The SATs is supossed to measure ones’ aptitude, but when individuals work with tutors, they have a tremendous advantage over those that do not. As an SAT tutor, I felt that it was my job to help those that could not afford my services. I began my pro-bono tutoring service, and my firm is now tutoring 50 students for free.” says Steven Malman, creator of the SAT tutoring firm.

It is reported that 30% of American students pay for private tutors for the SAT, and 50% pay for some sort of group course. The remaining 20% are at a tremendous disadvantage, for they are amongst the ones that cannot afford tutoring. Very little government aid is given to these students, and none reach their full potential in terms of SAT scoring. Steven Malman felt that these individuals deserve his services, and so comprised his pro-bono campaign. Students were encouraged to apply, and state why they believe they are in need of free services. 50 of 200 applicants were carefully selected, and thus received free tutoring.

Of the 50 students, 10 have received perfect scores on the SAT’s subsequent to working with Steven Malman. 20 of the students were accepted to Ivy League schools, 90% of which were accepted with a full scholarship. “I owe Steven Malman my life. His free services helped me unlock my inhibitions, and reach my full potential. I got a perfect score, when I was formerly averaging 2100’s on the SATs. I got a full scholorship to Harvard University, and I am excited to embark on this next step in my life. My family could have never afforded private tutoring, and I could never have gotten a full scholorship if it wasn’t for Steven’s tutoring sessions. Steven Malman is a genius with a wonderful heart.” says pro-bono client of Steven Malman, Ben Fenstor.

More About Steven Malman
Steven Malman graduated from Oxford University in England, and currently resides in New York. Out of curiosity, he took the SATs to measure his own aptitude. Without studying, he received a perfect score, and decided to launch his company. He began by tutoring three different individuals. While working with them, he noticed many similarities in the different SAT tests. He realized, that the way to answer the questions was simple. All one needed to learn was a simple method, and then one could easily master the exam. He launched his company, now consisting of 200+ clients and 20 different SAT tutoring professionals. Steven Malman has become the most sought out tutor in the Tri-state area, for his clients have increased their scores by 200 to as much as 600 points.

Steven Malman; SAT Tutor Sweeping The Nation

SAT Tutor, Steven Malman, comprises new tutoring method that has clients raising SAT scores by the hundreds. New method causes tutor to become #1 sought out tutor in the Tri-State area.

Having received a perfect score several times on the SAT, Steven Malman launched his own SAT tutoring service. Starting as a small business, the firm slowly became a huge corporation with some 200+ plus clients. For each section of the SAT, Steven Malman comprised his error-proof method and teaching it to clients.

The results were extraordinary, as Steven Malman noticed his methods helped some clients jump hundreds of points. “My method consists of strategy. The SAT’s are a very generic test; while the questions are qualitatively different, the way to answer them is always the same. If people learn the strategy, it is an easy test to master.” says Steven Malman, creator of the tutoring firm.

Steven Malman testifies to changing and updating his methods constantly, and guarantees his clients optimal scores on the SAT’s. “I worked with several tutors for the SAT’s, and none helped me raise my scores the way Steven Malman did. His methods were flawless, and every time I used one of his methods for any section of the SAT, my score was abnormally high. It was like I was cheating, only it was 100% ethical.” says Long Island School student whose score jumped 150 points, Adam Hector.

Malman’s new method requires the highlighting of specific ‘key phrases’ in SAT passages, and the simple tactic of reading questions beforehand. While learning his methods may take time, once the concept is understood, Steven Malman clients’ swear by it. “Once I learned Steven Malman’s method, I was acing the math section. The writing section, which I priorly gave up on, was finally easy for me. I was getting combined scores of 2300, nearly 400 points higher than I started with. I am applying to schools I formerly dreamed of getting into, and getting SAT scores I never imagined possible. Steven Malman really knows how to teach, and really knows how to guide kids to reach their highest potentials.” says client of Steven Malman Ariella Fray.

As a result of the high demand for his services, Steven Malman is in the midst of expanding his company, and training professionals to teach his methods to a new pool of clients. As competition to get into undergraduate schools is increasing at a tremendously rapid rate, students are becoming more competitive and are in dire need to achieve the highest possible scores on the SAT. Steven Malman, and his creating of specific methods, is helping his clients reach their full potentials, and get into the schools of their choice.

The World’s Worst Airport Terminals

A list of the best and worst airport terminals in the world has recently been published on frommer.com, and despite some cities making the list more than once, the results span the whole globe. However rather than tell you all the great airports you’ll never be lucky enough to set foot in, instead we’re goint to highlight exactly which airports you should do your very best to avoid.

Beauvais Airport, Paris

Paris-Beauvais is an interesting airport because it’s really not one of Paris’s main airports. Unlike the relative proximity Charles de Gaulle and Orly have to the centre of Paris, Beauvais is located 85 km outside the city. Smaller, low-cost airlines use Beauvais as a way to get passengers near(ish) Paris without having to deal with the prices of flying directly into the city. The frommers.com article calls Beauvais’s terminal “the pits”, and likens it to a “general half-tent, half-warehouse atmosphere.” Sounds great. And you’ve still got an hour to go before you get to the city!

Charles de Gaulle Airport, Terminal 3, Paris

It may be Paris’s best known airport, but Charles de Gaulle Airport didn’t make it away unscathed. Their terminal 3 made the list ranked as the 4th worst terminal in the world. Like Beauvais, it has also been compared to sleeping in a warehouse, a fact that could be attested to by the large homeless population that lives here.

Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal B & C, Moscow

Moscow’s largest airport made the list at number 3 with terminals B and C. Some of the reviews over at sleepinginairports.com said that “the atmosphere in the terminal building is awful”, it’s “dark like a cave”, and just plain dirty. One commenter says “If Putin really wants to clean up his country, this is where he should start”.

All three major airports, New York City

Not good news for passengers flying through New York – all three of New York City’s major airports made the list of world’s worst airport terminals. Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport clocked in at number 7, mainly because of the location of security checkpoints before each pier. If you want to get food, your choices are limited unless you liked to get frisked.

New York LaGuardia Airport‘s US Airways Terminal drops in at number 6 on the list, and frommers.com calls it “dull and sad” with limited options for food and services. Not what you would expect at one of America’s top national airports.

New York JFK Airport‘s Terminal 3 made the number 1 spot on the list of world’s worst terminals. Why? Frommers says: “Terminal 3 is the worst single airport terminal in America, and probably in the Western world. Even Delta acknowledges this: they’re tearing it down and replacing it with a giant glass structure connected to the nearby Terminal 4. It’s unsalvageable.” Ouch.

In stark contrast, New York JFK Airport Terminal 5 was rated number 5 on the list of best airport terminals in the world. Flyers can thank the airline JetBlue for providing new, modern services and really doing a good job offering a comfortable layover opportunity. It’s also been said that terminal 5 has the best airport food court in New York City.

What are your worst (or best) airport terminals to fly to?

Teacher Dean A Esposito Produces Magic, with Science

Dean A Esposito, an eight-grade science teacher at Middletown Middle School, has found a method of engaging students in learning basic concepts associated with engineering.

Dean A Esposito was fed up with the curriculum at Middletown Middle School where hes been teaching science for nearly five years. He was fed up with his eighth graders shying away from science and engineering, opting for social studies and “easier” subjects.

“My students closed their minds off and were automatically scared of the field,” said Dean A Esposito, 39, “I often told them science is like magic; inventions are created, formulas are built, you just have to know what to ask and what to press.”

Dean A Esposito asked for permission and was allowed to suggest an alternative curriculum that integrated engineering. School Board Director George Schwartz approved the revised curriculum and eagerly waited to see results.

“Dean was very demanding, he was rightfully tired of students having misconceived notions of engineering,” Schwartz said.

Dean A Esposito assigned a massive project that integrated a range of science disciplines with engineering, including design, teamwork, and problem-solving. Through NASA’s Astro-Build project, student teams went online to create simulated, life-sustaining worlds—new planets that differ from Earth but that can support life.

Next, Dean A Esposito put this challenge to them: “Your client is NASA,” he said. “Design plant-growth chambers that can operate on these hypothetical planets, so that humans colonizing the planets could grow food to survive.”

Each team outfitted its growth chamber according to the peculiarities of its particular, imagined planet. One plant orbited a blue star and so required blue light. Another one had a chilly average surface temperature of 30 degrees Fahrenheit and required a growth chamber that maintained that temperature.

“All of a sudden you had kids asking, ‘Can I create less atmospheric pressure? How?Why?’ Their minds were turned on, they became interested,” Dean A Esposito said.

“It’s stunning to me what the kids can do,” says Dean A Esposito, who fielded a call from Schwartz praising his students’ achievement. “There are different kinds of intelligence, and all of that sits in engineering.”

The School Board will continue implementing Dean A Esposito’s program to other schools across the county.

About Dean A Esposito
Dean A Esposito, 39, is a lifelong resident of Clearwater, Florida. A graduate of UF with a degree in education, started his teaching career a decade ago. Currently teaches science at Middletown Middle School.

Dean Esposito Rides the Latest High Wave

Dean Esposito’s local surf camp, Kiteway, wins “Camp of the Year” accolade from the City of Naples. Kiteway teaches novice surfer-wanna-be youth to glide the waves as well as volunteer in the community.

City of Naples awarded Dean Esposito’s franchise, camp Kiteway, the “Camp of the Year” award for the year 2012. In recognition of that feat, Esposito and his team will be honored and presented with a trophy during halftime of the JV Raiders football game against JV Tech Tuesday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Dean Esposito started surfing at the age of five, now 26, he is an expert at gliding the waves. His father, a Naples native, taught him the basics and pushed him to ride the waves as far as he could go.

“I traveled all over the world in search of the next big wave and one day it hit me,” said Dean Esposito. "I realized I'm not really doing anything useful, I was just hopping from beach to beach and I wanted to give back."

Dean Esposito returned to Naples and opened a store along the shore. He hung a sign against the front glass door –"Able to teach those who want to learn."

"And people, mainly young guys kept calling," he said.

Eventually after a year of teaching while running the surfboard shop, Dean Esposito established, Kiteway, a camp that teaches two basic principles: Riding waves and volunteering.

"It was important that the camp not focus primarily on the individual, he wanted the students to receive and give back," said Alissa Miller, Dean Esposito's assistant.

The "Camp of the Year" accolade is presented to camps who serve a higher purpose, said commissioner William Brown. Kiteway camp goers have volunteered in local food shelters, built homes for the needy and sponsored several large-scale surf competitions to raise money to aid improvised neighborhoods.

"I'm excited for the recognition but regardless, we will keep giving back and enjoying Mother Nature," Dean Esposito said.

About Dean Esposito
Dean Esposito, 26, is a resident of Naples, Florida. He is the owner of surfing camp Kiteway that offers a surfing and windsurfing camp for beginners and intermediate. The consistent wind and flat water make the Naples area a perfect destination to learn and improve windsurfing skills.

Local Pilot Dean Esposito Saved From Near-Death Incident

Dean Esposito managed to land his burning single-engine plane amid a rainstorm in central Texas. The Piper Saratoga aircraft crashed just before 10 p.m. Saturday in a farming and ranching community in northeast Brazos County.

Dean Esposito was a semi second void of dying. If not for a tad of luck and strong forearms: Esposito would be a dead man.

Dean Esposito’s flight originated in Atlanta, stopped in Jackson, Miss., and was headed for Waco, Texas, when it crashed in a field north of College Station. A resident called 911 to report the crash.

“I was already in Texas when I hit the storm and felt the entire plane shake,” said Dean Esposito, 43, father of two, “The lighting and winds were relentless and the plane glided as if it had no control.”

In fact, the plane had no control. As Dean Esposito attempted to manage the machine, lightning had struck
and his engine died. In addition, the left wing was on fire.

Sweat buds dripped down his neck and brow as he carefully mulled over his next dire steps. Time was of the essence. With every passing second the plane was plummeting to the ground.

“I didn’t want to die, I kept thinking about my two boys,” Dean Esposito said.

Heavy snow fell Saturday in parts of northwest Texas, though the crash occurred hundreds of miles south and east of the areas of the state that suffered the most severe weather.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were at the crash scene Sunday and flew over the area in a helicopter, following a similar flight plan to the aircraft that crashed.

"He was lucky, I have no idea how he managed to land a plane with no engine and left wing," said Marc Tinger, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Dean Esposito contributes his lucky landing a miracle. "I simply pulled the lever really strong and closed my eyes. Somehow I landed," he said.

The plane landed in a farm and caused substantial damage. The plane smashed into a series of treetops as it sped toward the ground and left a radius of debris spreading outward more than 2 miles.

Dean Esposito drove off from the scene in the back of an ambulance and suffers from five broken ribs and a broken left arm.

"I'm just happy to be alive, that is the most important," Dean Esposito said.

About Dean Esposito
Dean Esposito, 43, is a resident of Austin, Texas. He has been a single-engine pilot for 10 years, studied aviation at the Flight Academy. Dean Esposito is a father of two sons, his wife and he are separated.

Dean Esposito Law to Run for Breast Cancer in Show of Support

Dean Esposito Law, Jacksonville Beach based law firm that provides aggressive cost-effective and result-oriented representation to their extensive clients, is actively preparing to run February’s “26.2 with Donna.”
Dean Esposito, head of Dean Esposito Law, hasn't eaten bread in three weeks. His size 34 waistline has shrunk to a 32 and his love handles contain little love.

"I've lost a nice amount of weight from all this running," said Dean Esposito, 49, who has registered his staff of 10 lawyers to participate in the upcoming run "26.2 with Donna the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer." Esposito and his staff will attempt to run and walk 26 miles along the Jacksonville Beach coastline on February 26.

Losing weight is the minor detail in Esposito's life; six months ago, his wife, Mary, 46, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then she has lost her hair due to the harsh brutality of chemotherapy and has quit her job as a local librarian.

"This is the least I can do to show support and contribute to finding a cure to this terrible disease," Dean Esposito said.

The law firm, which focuses on representing its vast clientele in areas as malpractice defense, business defense, wrongful termination and employer/employee risk management, began training three months ago. They have given up certain carbohydrates and have vastly changed their lifestyles to prepare for the upcoming challenge.

Their daily routine of six meals a day and runs have caused each employee to shed a few pounds and become more health conscientious.

"When we first heard about Mary, Dean's wife, we were devastated but then we heard about the race and the fundraising and we thought that this could be something, something small, but something," said Ryan Obrien, 40, a partner in the Dean Esposito firm.

Dean Esposito and his team will wear pink T-shirts decorated by Mary Esposito and their three children. The lawyers will run 13 miles and slowly reduce the pace to a moderate jog. The course will be open for seven hours, allowing for a 16-minute per mile marathon and marathon relay, or a 32-minute per mile half marathon pace.

"I was never a runner but now I have a goal, I feel as if by me running and walking I am helping my wife in some way," Dean Esposito said.

Malman Law Team Aides Family in Reaching a $1.75M Settlement

Malman Law announced prosecution successfully reached a settlement between Chicago City Council and Starks family
Malman Law announced Wednesday that the Chicago City Council approved a $1.75 million settlement with the family of a 13-year-old girl who died a decade ago after city paramedics allegedly botched her care during an asthma attack.
Paramedics in July 2002 incorrectly inserted a tube meant to help Arielle Starks breathe, said Jeffrey Levine, deputy corporation counsel.
Starks died at Advocate Trinity Hospital after an ambulance carrying her to the hospital collided with a car. Another ambulance picked up Starks and took her to the hospital.
Malman Law and a team of lawyers attempted to showcase the mistakes caused by the paramedics' negligence. They successfully proved that the incorrectly inserted tube was meant to go through the esophagus that leads to the stomach, instead of through the trachea that leads to her lungs.
Initially the Starks case was represented by another prominent Chicago law firm, however, after the firm dropped the case, the Starks family, facing dismissal, turned to Malman Law. It was only after intense oral arguments that Malman Law convinced the court to allow Ms. Starks to proceed with the case.
“After I won the initial motion to dismiss by the City of Chicago, I assembled a team of lawyers and experts to prosecute the case resulting in an incredible settlement,” said Steven Malman, head of Malman Law.
If not for a series of “mistakes” made by the four paramedics who treated Starks on that fateful day, attorney Brian Murphy argued that the girl would be alive today.
Instead of proceeding to the hospital after determining that the driver of the other vehicle was not injured, the paramedics chose to follow, what Murphy called a “ridiculous general order” that states that, if a driver is in an accident involving property damage, he must remain on the scene.
As a result, Starks arrived at the hospital where she was pronounced dead 19 minutes after the accident, 25 minutes after being improperly treated and roughly 40 minutes after the initial call was placed to 911.
“In the United States, children do not die from asthma. It’s just that simple. I would categorically say there is no reason why this girl’s asthma should have killed her. She should have been back at school and back playing with her friends the next day,” Murphy said.
Experts at the trial testified that even though the tube was incorrectly inserted, Starks could have survived if the ambulance would have driven straight to the hospital.
“Because of all that, this girl died, and she did not need to die,” Murphy said.
About Malman Law
Steven Malman graduated from the University of Iowa and the School of Law at Loyola University-Chicago. He celebrated his 20th year of legal practice in November 2011.
